The Brief

Volunteering Queensland approached us to create a campaign film to celebrate the everyday people behind the state's volunteer network - the ones who show up, do the work, and rarely get the spotlight. The goal was a film that felt warm and human rather than corporate, built around a simple idea: not all heroes wear capes. Some just wear socks.

Our Approach

We built the film around four individual volunteer stories, each one grounded in a real person and their own reason for showing up. Rather than treat them as a montage of "good deeds," we gave each story room to breathe - letting the volunteers' own words and quiet moments of everyday effort carry the emotional weight.

The film builds toward a playful reveal: after following these unassuming, ordinary heroes through their volunteer work, the twist lands on socks - a lighthearted nod to the idea that heroism doesn't need a cape, just a willingness to turn up.

The Result

  • 1 x campaign hero film, "Heroes Hiding in Plain Sight"

  • 3 x social media cutdowns
